Meet The Teachers

Shannon
Principal/Dance Teacher

At the age of 3, Shannon took her first ballet class and has dedicated her life to dancing ever since. She has trained in all styles of dance and from a young age was accepted into Urdang Dance Academy Associates and British Ballet Organization (BBO Dance) Jazz and Ballet Scholarship programmes which she took part in for 4 years.

 

Shannon then went on to train at the Northern Ballet School in Manchester where she graduated with an NVQ Level 6 Diploma in Professional Dance. On the day of her graduation, she flew straight to Los Angeles to begin rehearsing for Princess Cruise Lines who she has danced and travelled over 56 countries around the world with for almost 6 years – in 2018 she was promoted to a managerial role.

 

One of Shannon’s career highlights is being selected to be a part of the press performance cast for the Stephen Schwartz Broadway Musical ‘Born to Dance’ in New York. She was lucky enough to spend months working alongside Broadway directors, choreographers and musical directors to which she has gained unforgettable experience and friendships from.

 

A selection of other credits from Shannon’s performing career include performing with The Vegas Showgirls, Sky TV, Disney Land Paris, The Royal Albert Hall, Saddlers Wells, Manchester Opera House, The Dance House Theatre and PortAventura.

 

Alongside teaching, Shannon still performs around the country with high end event and entertainment companies.

 

Shannon is a fully qualified dance teacher registered with the British Ballet Organization (BBO Dance) and the International Dance Teachers' Association (IDTA), enhanced DBS checked, fire and safeguarding trained, and first aid certified. She has a wealth of performance industry knowledge and over 10 years of experience in teaching dance to all ages and abilities.

Shannon has a huge passion for all things entertainment and can't wait to share her experience, knowledge and love of dance with you.

Megan
Dance Teacher

Megan is a classically trained dancer with over 18 years of dance and performing experience. Megan trained at the Jill Clewes Academy for Performing Arts, and is a fully qualified dance teacher with BBO Dance after gaining her level 5 dance teaching qualification. Megan has danced in many venues across Europe including London’s Royal Albert Hall and Disneyland Paris.


Some of her most recent performance credits include, touring as a backing dancer for Absolute Britney in venues around the Uk and Europe; as-well as being a Dance Captain for Shone Productions ‘Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs’.


While working at Butlins Minehead for many years, Megan has also performed along side Mister Maker and Justin Fletcher.

 

After recently moving back to her home town of Stoke on Trent, Megan is proud to make dance teaching her full time job. She is very excited to be part of the SLDA family.

Chloe
Dance Teacher

Chloe started dancing at the age of 4, taking classes in different styles, and found her love for Street Dance at the age of 10. From then on she has trained with a number of industry professionals in the UK, LA and New York, competed in the world street dance championships taking first place with her team, and performed in a variety of shows around the UK.

​

At the age of 18, Chloe gained her IDTA Associate Dance Teacher qualification and started teaching in academic schools and dance schools in Cheshire. Chloe then decided she wanted to travel and ended up in California teaching  dance and becoming a leader of the dance department at a Summer Camp for 4 years. 

​

After taking a short break from the industry, Chloe is looking forward to teaching you, and being a part of the SLDA team.
